When buying a new home, don’t overlook the value of having an independent inspection performed. This will validate the condition and performance of home’s components, prior to taking ownership. It is considerably easier to get the builder to address concerns up front, prior to move in, rather than after taking ownership.
Additionally, most builders offer a 1-Year Warranty on major systems and components. A check-out of these systems prior to the expiration of the warranty can potentially save you the cost of future repairs or maintenance.
